Town host their League Two rivals at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, just three days before the U’s head to Old Trafford after holding the Premier League giants to a 0-0 draw at the Abbey Stadium recently.

Lawless said: Hopefully we can catch them while they’ve got all their FA Cup exploits going on.

“It’s human nature that things like that can be distracting because people talk about it so much, that’s not anybody, that’s one of the best teams in the world.”

Town winger Shaun Whalley also felt the same as he added: “I don’t really know a lot of their players and know what their mentality is like, but it’s obviously a big game for them.”
