The 24-year-old made his league debut for Town as a half time substitute during Saturday’s encounter with Portsmouth.

However, a late Matt Tubbs winner condemned Luton to their third successive defeat, as they have now gone five games without a victory.

Despite sitting third bottom in the table, Lee was remaining bullish about Town’s promotion chances this term.

He said: “We’re playing well, but we’ve got to grind out a win, even if we have to play ugly and win 1-0.

“We just need that first win and then I know this team is good enough to get us promoted.

“We were looking really good (against Portsmouth) so we’ll have to get our heads up.

“Once we get that first win, then we’ll be flying up the table.”

Lee was manager John Still’s 12th and final addition of the summer, joining on a free transfer last month.

Even though the club made a number of high profile signings, including the likes of Craig Mackail-Smith, Danny Green and Paddy McCourt, Lee believes they will take time to settle.

He continued: “The team is still gelling. Everyone needs to appreciate a lot of players have come in and it’s early days.

“We’re still learning how each other play, what suits each other.

“It’s all coming together, just a little bit more slowly than we want it to be.”
