Lee declares himself fit to face Brewers

“He came in and fitted in well, him and Paul (Benson) looked very good.

Although goalkeeper Mark Tyler edges ever close to a recall from his knee injury, he’s not expected to be ready in time to face the league leaders.

Still continued: “Tyler is close, but I say that every week.

“He is almost there, but we haven’t got to rush him with Elliot (Justham).

“Everything is fine, he can do everything but striking through the ball that comes quickly and he’s got to adjust himself, just gives him a little bit of a problem, so that’s the last hurdle to overcome.”

The boss also felt that despite the poor run of form Town have been on in Tyler’s absence, Elliot Justham has proved himself an able deputy.

He continued: “He made a very good save at Tranmere and one person in a disappointing run that has emerged out of it is Elliot.

“We’ve always liked him and I’ve been really, really pleased with Elliot.

“He’s a young man, and if I look at players like him, I’m getting to where I like to be.

“In Elliot’s case, he would have been very, very pleased with himself on Monday.”

Meanwhile, both Jonathan Smith and Nathan Doyle haven’t suffered any reactions after their returns from injury as Still added: “They’ve responded unbelievably. I think both were a bit better on Monday and I hope they are a bit better this Saturday.

“I hope if they can get to three games to go they would be reasonably close to what we would expect them to be.

“They both came through Monday very well, had a rest, trained today, will train tomorrow, so should be a little bit closer again.

“If we give them the amount of game time that we have, it should get them back to their best for the last three or four games of the season.”

Smith also praised the central midfield pair, plus the likes of Lee for their dedication to the cause, adding: “We had Doyley who couldn’t wait to get back, Smith who pushed himself to play when not quite right.

“Elliot Lee we said could be another week, but he wants to play. The atmosphere here is as its always been and the lad’s attitude has been spot on, I’ve never had a problem with that.”
