The 24-year-old fired in a magnificent long-range half volley during injury time to become Luton’s 10th scorer of the campaign.

Lee admitted he had been hoping to add goals to his game recently as he said: “Definitely. I like to get quite a few shots off, but I’ve been more of a holding midfielder recently.

“It’s been a bit frustrating last couple of games, I hadn’t been able to get my shots off.

“Hopefully one’s gone in now and the floodgates will start to open, so I can catch up with Cam (McGeehan) and Smudge (Jonathan Smith) who are running away with it.

“We hit the target man Gutts (Luke Guttridge) and he headed it down nicely to me.

“I just took it on my chest and thought why not? Three or four lads were screaming at me to pass it, but I knew it was last minute, so just thought ‘hit it’.

“I scored here last season so I fancied it on this ground and luckily for me it went in.”
