Midfielder Paul McLaren put the visitors in front with a terrific long range strike, before Nicky Mohan equalised, as striker Peter Thomson scored twice in the second half to win it.

9. MF: Matthew Taylor
Racked up the most league appearances that season for Luton, 45 of them in total, missing just one game at Northampton Town. His deep free kick led to the Hatters retaking the lead early in the second half as well.
10. FW: Liam George
Excellent display from the forward as he burst away from his man to find strike partner Thomson for what proved the vital third goal. Finished as Luton's top scorer that season, netting nine in league and FA Cup.
11. FW: Peter Thomson
Signed for 100k by former boss Ricky Hill, he turned and finished well from Whitbread's header to put Luton 2-1 up and then netted a wonderful lob for the third. His only two goals for the Hatters though, allowed to leave by Joe Kinnear.
12. USED SUB: Andrew Fotiadis
With the points in the bag, the striker had a late cameo, one of his 22 league outings that season, 10 of them coming from the bench. Managed to bag three goals for the Hatters too.
