Hatters forward Ricky Miller bagged his third goal for Dover Athletic in their Vanarama Conference 1-0 win over Alfreton at the weekend.

Miller, who now has netted three times in six appearances, scored after 38 minutes, before being replaced late on, while Town midfielder Solomon Taiwo played the full game.

Winger Dave Martin helped Bristol Rovers to record a fifth successive victory in same division, playing 83 minutes of the Pirates’ 1-0 win at Southport.

Striker Lee Angol continued his rich vein of form, scoring twice as Boreham Wood defeated East Preston 3-2 in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

Fellow forward Zane Banton was also on target for Biggleswade Town as they earned a replay after coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Dorking Wanderers, with Ian Rees also playing.

Elsewhere, Danny Fitzsimons played 90 minutes in Bishop’s Stortford’s goalless draw with Tooting & Mitcham.

Staying in the cup, Mark Onyemah played for Thurrock in their 1-0 defeat against Aveley, while Kynan Isaac started Oxford City’s 2-1 defeat at Shortwood Town.

Midfielder Charlie Smith was also in action as Hitchin Town went out 3-0 at home to Wingate & Finchley.
