Town midfielder Andrew Shinnie came off the bench as Charlton Athletic made it three wins in a row with a 2-0 League One victory at Northampton Town on Saturday.

Shinnie was named among the substitutes in one of five changes made by Addicks boss Lee Bowyer to the side that beat Blackpool in midweek.

A fine save from Ben Amos kept the scores goalless, before the visitors moved in front eight minutes into the second period, Darren Pratley rifling home from close range.

Home defender Jack Sowerby then put through his own net, as Shinnie came on for Alfie Doughty just after the hour mark, the Addicks confidently seeing out the three points.

Defender Peter Kioso started as Bolton Wanderers hit back to earn a 1-1 draw at League Two leaders Cambridge United.

The full back went close to a second goal in two games, seeing a thunderous drive parried by Dimi Mitov, while his cross evaded the head of Eoin Doyle.

After the break, the U’s went ahead on 72 minutes when Jack Iredale’s deep cross was punched into his own net by keeper Billy Crellin.

Bolton then levelled with 18 to go, a fine move seeing skipper Antoni Sarcevic spin and shoot home.

Goalkeeper Harry Isted didn’t feature for Wealdstone as they lost 2-0 at home to Hayes & Yeading in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

Tiernan Parker was on the bench for HItchin as they won 2-0 at Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday and then lost 2-0 at home to Royston Town on Monday evening.
