Lockyer could be fit for Preston trip and Wales duty
Defender is back in full training once more
Luton defender Tom Lockyer could be fit enough to return for the Hatters trip to Preston North End on Saturday, and also make Wales' trio of upcoming fixtures as well.
The 26-year-old, who has 13 caps to his name, has missed Town's last seven games with an ankle injury suffered early on during the 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City last month.
However, he was still named in the 31-man Welsh squad, alongside team-mate Joe Morrell for the World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Czech Republic, plus a friendly with Mexico.
Town assistant boss Mick Harford admitted that the centre half, who had in excellent form since breaking into the Hatters side, might potentially feature for both club and country, as he said: “Lockyer is back out on the field now training with the boys.
“He’s trained today, that’s the first time, we’ll monitor him tomorrow, see how he comes through tomorrow and then make a decision on him.
"They're (Wales) are probably thinking that he’s key to them at the moment in terms of what he does for that team and they probably see him as a key compartment in the games that are coming up.
"So if he’s fit and well then we’ll have to monitor him, speak to their doctors and see if he’s able to go."
