Luton defender Tom Lockyer is a doubt for this tomorrow night's trip to Brentford after suffering a head injury during Saturday’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth.

The Welshman was forced off after just 26 minutes having been floored by the flailing arm of Cherries midfielder Jefferson Lerma, who was sent off by referee David Web, a decision that was later rescinded.Lockyer was bandaged up before trying to play on, but was eventually unable to continue and whether he will have recovered for the visit to the Bees, boss Nathan Jones said: “We’ve had to monitor him as it was a very nasty cut.

“It wasn’t so much a concussion, but the bleeding was the problem that was then going into his eye, so he couldn’t see.

“So that was the issue really, no concussion protocol it was more the cut that was the problem on the day.”

Although Lockyer is potentially on the absent list, Jones has a virtually fully fit squad, as he continued: “It’s just Martin Cranie still recovering.

“He’s quite close actually, but he’s the only one really.”
