Hatters boss Nathan Jones has confirmed that defender Brendan Galloway will 'pursue his career elsewhere' after not being named in the Hatters 25-man Championship squad last week.

The 24-year-old's 18 month stint at Luton has been an unhappy one in terms of game time, with a serious knee injury against Brentford in November 2019, keeping him out of action for the rest of the season.

Galloway did recover to play in the 1-0 FA Cup win over Reading last month, one of only six first team appearances, as Jones looked to move the full back on during the recent transfer window, only to see a move to Shrewsbury break down.

When asked what the next steps were for the defender, Jones said: "He’s still injured at the minute so it’s been very, very frustrating for Brendan.

"It’s been a frustrating process and I don’t want to comment too much because I don’t understand what’s happened at times.

“Brendan will continue to do his rehab with us and then will find a new club in the summer.

"Obviously, he’s outside the 25, he’s not featured and he’s been very unfortunate with his injury before I came and apparently he’s not recovered those.

“We will do our due diligence with him, he’s a good kid, no problem, and then he’ll pursue his career elsewhere, when the time’s right."
