Luton chief hails Leicester City loanee Dewsbury-Hall as 'outstanding'

Luton boss Nathan Jones described Town loan signing from Leicester City Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as ‘outstanding’ after the midfielder produced another starring show against Bournemouth in the 0-0 draw at the weekend.

The 22-year-old was making his 13th appearance since arriving from the King Power Stadium in October and was Town's best performer on the day once more, continuing his fantastic start to life at Kenilworth Road.

Jones, who had been a long-time admirer of the midfielder when he was with League One Blackpool last season, said: “Who recruited him? Great recruitment. That’s all I can say.

“He’s doing what we thought he’d do, an outstanding young player, one we’re very happy to have, coupled with Pelly-Ruddock (Mpanzu) as Pelly-Ruddock was outstanding.

“You’ve got to remember their midfield, of (David) Brooks, of (Phil) Billing, of (Lewis) Cook, 20, 30 million pounds worth of talent there and no difference between ours and theirs, no difference.

Team-mate James Shea was equally impressed of the youngster, who has made a big impression since joining the Hatters.

He said: “He’s all right isn’t he, he’s not bad at football is he?

“He’s been absolutely class since he’s come in and long may it continue for him.

"He's been one of our best players this season, he's big for us, we’ve got to keep him fit, look after him.

"It's his first season of Championship football as well, he's showing what he can do, he's very very good player, so long may it continue for us."

Dewsbury-Hall caught the eye yet again during the stalemate, going close with a fizzing effort that flashed off target, before seeing his late cross almost sliced into his own net by a visiting defender.

On the overall display, Jones added: "They are Premier League, they have been a Premier League side for lot of years.

"Eddie (Howe) and Jason (Tindall) have done a fantastic job there in terms of how they’ve built that and they still have the remnants of a Premier League side.

"You look at the athleticism they have, the people they have, so for us to be competing with them, but that’s what we wanted.

"We know that we can’t compete off the field with these, but on the field, then we are and these are a wonderful side.

"So it’s a good point for us, but looking back at it, we’re a little bit disappointed."
