Luton midfielder insists Town have their 'own agenda' ahead of Millers clash

Luton will have their 'own agenda' in mind going into tonight's clash against Championship strugglers Rotherham United, according to midfielder Glen Rea.

With two games of the season to go, the Hatters are safe from relegation and can't make the play-offs, while it is a very different scenario for the Millers who need the victory to ensure staying in the division is in their own hands ahead of Saturday's finale at Cardiff City.

However, Luton are pushing for their best points tally at this level since the 2005-06 campaign when they finished on 61 points, the same number they go into the game with, while a top 10 place also remains a distinct possibility.

That led Rea to say: "We’ve got our own agenda to finish as best as we can, so we’re going to approach it like we’ve approached every game this season, try and win it, see what happens.

"No-one is going to relax and no-one relaxed last year as that's the standard we put on ourselves.

"I remember the last day of the season here (against Blackburn Rover) so that had it’s own importance then.

"This has got it’s own importance now, so we’ll just keep trying to push on and move forward as a club.

"It’s nice that we’re safe now, but also going into the last few games last year, we believed that we could stay in the Championship.

"We’ve done that and we've proved ourselves now so long may it continue."

Although there may not be any outward pressure on the players to triumph, that won't be the case within the squad with Town also going to QPR at the weekend to finish their season, as two wins could see them end the campaign in ninth place.

Rea added: "I like the pressure to play and win every week.

"We’re putting pressure on ourselves to win every week and I think it’s showing in the performances.

"We’re doing well, so personally I just play the games, as I just love playing football.

"They’re two massive games for us, we want to win both of those games.

"QPR I know is a rivalry for the club, so we’re going to go there and try and win a game, like we’re going to try and win the game on Tuesday night.

"I know they’re fighting for their lives, but we’ve got our own agenda to stick to and that’s what we’re going to do."
