Luton winger Josh Neufville scored his first goal in professional football as Yeovil Town hit back to beat rivals Torquay United 2-1 in the National League on Saturday.

The Glovers side were without fellow Hatter Gabriel Osho who had returned to Kenilworth Road following a loan spell that saw him make four appearances, although did possess former Town players Luke Wilkinson and Lawson D'Ath in their ranks.

It was Wilkinson who went closest first in the opening period, hitting the bar, but after the break, Torquay led on 47 minutes, Aaron Nemane firing home.

Neufville, on his full league debut for the hosts, was hauled down in the box on the hour mark with nothing given, then went close when he burst through the defence only to shoot wide.

It was third time lucky for Neufville though on 87 minutes, as when Torquay failed to clear their lines, he deftly placed the ball into the top corner to make it 1-1 and score his first goal in a fledgling career that has also seen him loaned to Solihull Moors and Woking.

As the game entered stoppage time, the turnaround was completed thanks to an emphatic Wilkinson header at the back post from Cark Dickinson’s corner.

Writing on Instagram, Neufville said: "Buzzing to get my first professional goal but more importantly buzzing for the 3 points, unbelievable character from the boys."

Midfielder Andrew Shinnie didn't feature as Charlton Athletic lost 2-0 to Hull City in League One, while Peter Kioso was suspended for Bolton's 1-0 home defeat to Crawley Town in League Two.
