Hatters striker Elijah Adebayo is destined to go all the way to the top according to club captain Sonny Bradley.

The 23-year-old has made quite an impact since coming in from Walsall on deadline day, scoring five goals in his 18 appearances, with two thumping headers, a penalty and both left and right footed finishes too.

It’s not just his goals that have caught the eye, but the manner in which he has led the Town line after getting the nod ahead of top scorer James Collins, despite never playing in the Championship himself.

He has shown some excellent hold-up play against some robust defenders, and that has certainly caught the eye of Bradley who said: “He’s been absolutely tremendous.

“When he first came in, the manager likes to give players a few weeks to find their feet with the team, find out what we do, but as soon as he was given a real chance, he’s taken that chance.

“He’s not only what you see, for me, it’s not only what you see him playing games as that’s all the fans really see.

“I work with him every day, it’s his attitude and application which allows him to progress and we’ve got a really, really good group of lads who want to learn and are hungry, and he’s exactly the same.

“If he keeps performing in the way that he is, if he comes back even stronger next season, then with more Championship experience, he’s got a real chance of going all the way to the top in my opinion.”

Fellow team-mate Harry Cornick was also of a similar view, as he said: “He’s been on fire and to come into the Championship, he’s quite young, so to hit the ground running like he has, it’s testament to him as a player.

"He’s got a lot of talent, a lot of ability and I can only see him scoring more for the club.

"I think next year when he gets a full pre-season in him and a full year of working with the players, I don’t want to put a number on him, but I think he can score a lot of goals.

"He’s been brilliant for us.”
