Luton skipper Sonny Bradley has praised the 'professional' attitude shown by Elliot Lee to not disrupt the dressing room harmony despite a tough season at Kenilworth Road this term.

The Hatters attacker was frozen out under previous manager Graeme Jones, making just four Championship appearances in eight months, a tally he has already reached in just under a fortnight since returning boss Nathan Jones took over.

He repaid the faith a with a quite brilliant strike to make it 2-0 as Luton triumphed at Huddersfield on Friday night, with the genuine joy on his team-mates faces clear to see during their celebrations.

Bradley, who had got the first goal on the night, said: "In fairness to El, when you see players who are not in the squad and not in the team, sometimes their heads can drop and they can be a bit poisonous in the dressing room and Elliot Lee hasn’t been that at all, no-one’s been like that at our club.

"He’s been totally professional, he’s stayed fit, every time he’s come in training, whether he’s been in the squad or not in the squad, he’s performed to a very high level.

"Now Nathan Jones has come back, he’s got his chance and it’s fair play to play.

"He’s kept himself fit, kept ready and that’s what we need if we're going to stay up,.

"The boys who aren't involved, there's boys who haven't played today who possibly will play on Tuesday night against QPR, they'll be training this weekend, maintaining their fitness, ready to be called upon if they are needed.

"We need that mentality from everyone in the dressing room and I feel like we’ve got that at the moment."

Despite leading 1-0 and looking secure, Bradley knew that a second was always needed to kill the game off, something they had failed to do during Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley, the visitors equalising with just six minutes left.

Lee's strike in the 71st minute made the final stages far less nervy, as Bradley continued: "No matter what team you are, in any division, at 1-0, there’s always a chance of a bit of late pressure and possibly conceding an equaliser.

"We proved that against Barnsley a few days ago, if you don’t kill the game, which we didn’t, you sit, you start dropping deeper and deeper and allow pressure and against Barnsley it showed.

"The set-piece came in, second phase and all of a sudden it’s in the back of your net, but we got the goal today and that's what we wanted.

"It was a great finish from Elliot, it was probably harder than it looked and then the game’s over, it’s 2-0, we move on and try to win the next three.”
