Town captain Sonny Bradley is keeping everything crossed that the transfer window closes with midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall still at Kenilworth Road.

Although Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers revealed last week that the 22-year-old was remaining at Luton for the rest of the campaign due to the Foxes missing the loan recall date, Bradley wanted to get to February first before believing it to be 100 per cent official.

He said: “I’m not sure if they can change that, I don’t know, so I’d like to get past this window first and hope we can keep him for the rest of the season.

"It was a big loss with Rhys (Norrington-Davies) going back, there’s no point hiding that as I thought Rhys performed well while he was here.

“So if we lost Kiernan as well, that would be a really big blow as so far for me, as he’s been our player of the season.

“I read somewhere that Brendan Rodgers has come out and said that he’s staying for the rest of the season, it’s a massive boost for us and what we work on week in week out, Kiernan’s a big part of that.

“So I’m not sure it’s 100 per cent yet, but I hope it is and if he stays then I’m sure he can have another successful six months here.”

Rodgers had also conceded he had been interested in potentially recalling the midfielder, but Luton boss Nathan Jones didn't think that was quite the case, saying: “I think there might have been a little bit of kidology there.

Brendan knows he’s in a real good place and we’re very proud that they trust him with us.

"For us to bring a loan in, the amount of work that we do on research is quite frightening, and I did that, I was out of work at the time, so I couldn’t do a hell of a lot.

"But he’s a wonderful player doing superbly well and we’ll send him back to Leicester a better player, more of a grown man.

"It’s the right thing to leave him here and I’m sure Brendan knows that, but we are very delighted because some don’t see that."

Dewsbury-Hall was to prove the match-winner during Saturday's 1-0 victory at Bournemouth on Saturday, bending a delicious effort past Cherries keeper Asmir Begovic with 67 minutes gone to secure a wonderful three points for the Hatters.

It was his second goal since moving to Kenilworth Road, although Bradley felt he could have had more to his name, adding: "He's been in that position a few times this season where I have expected a little bit more from him, because I've seen what he does in training, I've seen what he does every day.

"So when I see him pop up inn those positions, I'm thinking 'goal', he’s moved it on to his left and he’s placed it perfectly."
