Luton have won their appeal against the red card shown to defender Tom Lockyer during Wednesday night's 1-0 defeat to Brentford.

The centre half was dismissed in stoppage time after an off the ball incident with striker Ivan Toney, who was also given his marching order for a second yellow.

A tweet from the official spokesperson of The FA said: "Luton Town FC’s Thomas Lockyer is available for selection following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal.

"The defender was sent off during their EFL Championship fixture against Brentford FC on Wednesday for violent conduct."

Meanwhile, a statement on the club's official website said: "We are delighted that a regulatory commission has overturned the decision and Tom will not serve a suspension."

Earlier this afternoon, Luton boss Nathan Jones had confirmed the appeal had been made, with Lockyer now in his plans for Sunday's FA Cup fourth round clash against Chelsea.
