Luton winger nets England winner

Howells strikes to down Estonia

A GOAL from Jake Howells helped England C to progress to the semi-final of the International Challenge Trophy.

His strike seven minutes into the second half gave England C a 1-0 victory over Estonia U23s at the Kadriorg Stadium in Tallinn on Tuesday.

Howells was on hand to force the ball home after an error from Estonian keeper Pedok as England qualified from Group B.

Matthew Barnes-Homer was also in action and Hatters manager Richard Money was hopeful the duo wouldn’t pick up any injuries ahead of Luton’s Blue Square Bet Premier game at Eastbourne on Saturday.

He said: “We will keep our fingers crossed Matthew and Jake come through and everyone else will be fit.”
