Marriott apologises after red card
Hatters striker Jack Marriott has apologised for the red card he received against Leyton Orient in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last night.
The summer signing from Ipswich Town was dismissed for a gesture he made towards the travelling O’s supporters after putting a header over the bar during the 2-1 win.
Marriott will now miss Saturday’s trip to Cambridge United, but writing on Twitter this afternoon, he said: “Just like to apologise to the club and everyone involved for last nights incident, it was very out of character for me and I’ve let the manager, the fans and my teammates down, I made a mistake and am very disappointed in myself, I will learn from this.”
