Hatters boss John Still is expecting to complete the capture of former Ipswich Town striker Jack Marriott this week.
The 20-year-old was released by the Portman Road club on Monday, after spending time on loan at both Woking and Carlisle last season, scoring five goals in 31 appearances.
Marriott netted 12 times in 24 matches for Woking the previous campaign, playing in the Cards’ 1-0 win at Kenilworth Road as Still said: “He caught our eye when we went to watch Ipswich Reserves play, in the Conference season.
“He’s quick, sharp, strong and we think the best years are still coming for him.”
