New Luton signing Jack Marriott is hoping to bring goals and plenty of them to the Hatters frontline next season.
With Hatters only scoring 54 goals in the league last season, the 20-year-old, who penned a one-year deal last month, believes he could help solve that problem.
“It’s always something I’ve wanted to strive for, to score goals and do my bit for the team in that respect.”Jack Marriott
Speaking to the News/Gazette, Marriot said: “I imagine that’s why the manager brought me in and I hope that I can repay some faith and stick the ball in the back of the net.
“It’s what I’ve done since I’ve been playing football really, I want to score goals.
“It doesn’t mean that I’m stupidly greedy, but if I’ve got a chance then I want to take it, it’s always something I’ve strived for.”
Netting in front of a Hatters crowd that averaged 8,702 last term is high up on Marriott’s wish-list too and for the full story, see the News/Gazette on sale now.
