The 25-year-old striker joined on a free transfer from Boston United last month and has been getting stuck into his first pre-season as a professional.

Although he will be jumping two levels to League Two this term, Miller firmly believes in his ability to succeed if and when called upon.

He said: “I back myself to the hilt, I really do.

“It’s a bit of a transition, but the lads made me feel welcome and I know if I get chucked in at the deep end, I’ll work my socks off.

“If I get a chance I’ll hopefuflly put it away, so I’ve just got to make sure I’m ready to step up to the plate when I do get an opportunity.”

The forward, who bagged 24 league goals last season, is already eying up a target this year, although admitted he might have be realistic in his aims.

While although Town sold leading scorer Andre Gray to Brentford recently, competition for places upfront remains intense, something Miller is ready for.
