Mills: O’Donnell purchase was money well spent

The Tynesiders paid an undisclosed fee for O’Donnell, who had spent the latter part of the season on loan at the club as they lost out in the Skrill Premier play-off final to Cambridge United.

Mills told the club’s official website: “We had to pay a fee to get him, but it was money well spent.

“He can play out wide or drop in at left-back if necessary. He did well for us last season and he’s another one that I can develop and bring on.

“He can only get better. He showed in the five months he was here that he has a lot of attributes, and I was pleased with his contribution.”
