Neilson relishing battle for full back berth

Assistant manager Alan Neilson is looking forward to seeing who wins the battle for the left-back berth at Kenilworth Road this season, writes Mike Simmonds.

Town recently snapped up Lathaniel Rowe-Turner after he was released by Torquay United, while Greg Taylor is now fully fit once more, with Jake Howells also an option.

Neilson said: “Lathaniel is quite a quiet lad, we’ll have to get that out of him.

“The gaffer knows him from Torquay, he’s a strong player, very fit and has come on quite a lot.

“He didn’t play left-back (at Torquay) because of (Kevin) Nicholson, but I think he’s looking forward to the challenge of pushing for the left-back slot.

“We’ve got Greg Taylor, Jake can play there, so there’s plenty of competition.”
