New skipper Henry hails the Town defence
A WATERTIGHT defence can be Town’s promotion platform this season according to new skipper Ronnie Henry, writes Mark Wood.
Luton’s back four have hardly conceded this pre-season, including clean sheets against Championship Ipswich, League Two Wycombe Wanderers and most recently against League One Leyton Orient.
Henry, who turned down League One Stevenage to move to Kenilworth Road in the summer, said: “I keep harking back to when I was at Stevenage we had the best defence in the Conference, best defence in League Two and it’s great to have that platform.
“I’m sure the lads in front of us, the midfielders and the forwards appreciate when we keep clean sheets. I know they help towards it.”
