Town’s players won’t be complaining about the congested fixture schedule they have been handed with ahead of the World Cup that starts later this month according to defender Amari’i Bell.

The Hatters, who have already played 18 games in a little over three months, now face a trip to Blackpool this afternoon, before heading to Stoke City on Tuesday night and then hosting Rotherham on Saturday.

They do have a month off for the tournament being staged in Qatar before coming back for the second part of the season where things should get a little easier, as barring an FA Cup run, Town have only four midweek matches scheduled, with none booked for January and just the one during February.

Having started all but one of Luton’s Championship fixtures so far, while he also travelled to New Jersey for Jamaica’s international friendly with Argentina in September, Bell admits tiredness has been creeping in, as he said: “Don’t get me wrong, I’m feeling it a little bit now, but I think that’s the Championship.

“There’s a lot of games back to back and we’ve just to deal with it as best we can.

"We’ve got to make sure we recover right and live our lives right away from football as well.

“Even though it’s tough we still want to play the games back to back.

"We’re not going to complain, we’re just going to grind through and keep playing as many as we can.

“We’ve got a little bit of a break after that, but we’ll grind out the last few games until then.”

Hatters have made a decent start to the season, sitting 10th in the table, three points away from the play-off places but a frustrating run of form at home, six draws in 10 outings has stunted their rise up the division.

It was the same this week when Luton by Sunderland and Reading, as Bell continued: “The game against Sunderland that was disappointing, we felt we could have won that.

“Tonight (Tuesday) the half chances we did have, they could have gone in on another day as well.

“The positives are that we haven't lost the game and still picking up points where we can.”

Luton now head to a venue where they triumphed 3-0 last season, to face a Tangerines side who have won two out of their last three on home soil.

Bell added: “Every game is tough anyway, but Blackpool is going to be no different.

"We just want to go there and make sure we get the three points this time.”
