Luton's on-loan Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies was an unused substitute as Wales were beaten 3-0 by England in their international friendly at Wembley on Thursday night.

The hosts took the lead through Everton debutant Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as he headed home Jack Grealish's cross from close range.

The outstanding Aston Villa attacker then won a free kick that skipper Kieran Trippier sent into the area for Wolves defender Conor Coady to power home a first international goal eight minutes after the break.

Southampton striker Danny Ings, making his first start, added a third in the 63rd minute with a terrific overhead kick after Tyrone Mings had headed down a Kalvin Phillips corner.

Norrington-Davies will be hoping to gain a senior debut in the Nations League as Wales travel to Republic of Ireland on Sunday and then visit Bulgaria on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Town striker James Collins' hopes of playing in the Euro 2020 Championships are over after Ireland lost their play-off semi-final against Slovakia last night.
