Former on-loan Luton defender Rhys Norrington-Davies has stated that his switch from the Hatters to Stoke City was the 'best move' for him.

The 21-year-old made 22 appearances for the Hatters since arriving on loan from Sheffield United, although in recent weeks had played further forward than his preferred left back berth.

Speaking to the Potters' official website, he said: This is a big opportunity for me.

"Stoke are obviously a massive club with the potential to get into the play-offs and get them promoted back to the Premier League.

“From my point of view I want to come in and add something to the team and try to help them get back to where they belong.

“I’ve got big ambitions – I want to become a Premier League player and I feel like this is a stepping stone from where I was.

"I don’t mean any disrespect to Luton whatsoever because they are a great club but I just feel this is the best move for me at this time, coming into this system of 4-3-3.

“Hopefully I’ll be playing week in, week out at left back and will bring my game to Stoke and show people what I’m all about.

“I’ve spoken to the gaffer at Luton and I’m very grateful for the opportunity they gave me.

"I made my Championship debut with them and it helped me get on the international scene with Wales.”
