O’Connor relishing Luton opportunity

ONCE Luton Town came knocking on his door, there was no way that new signing Aaron O’Connor was going to join anyone else, writes Mike Simmonds.

On becoming a free agent at the end of the season, the Rushden & Diamonds skipper’s signature was highly sought after by a number of clubs, including some from League Two.

But he turned down allcomers in favour of moving to Kenilworth Road on a two-year deal, purely because of the size of the club.

He said: “I’m quite an ambitious guy. I had interest and offers on the table from a League Two club, but when I weighed up the options, I classed Luton as a bigger club than them.”
