The 29-year-old centre-half moved to Kenilworth Road this summer following his release from Colchester and has been regaining full match fitness after a serious Achilles injury.

He made his Town debut as a second-half substitute in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Leyton Orient in September and earned his first start during the 2-1 defeat to Gillingham in the same competition earlier this month.

However, with Okuonghae needing first team games, he has headed to Victoria Park in time to be included in Ronnie Moore’s squad for the Pools’ game at his former club Dagenham & Redbridge this afternoon.

Luton boss John Still told the club’s official website: “Magnus now needs game time having got his fitness levels up since arriving – and a month in League 2 with Ronnie will do him the power of good.

“Magnus has already shown us his qualities in the short time he’s been here – all he needs now is some competitive minutes under his belt.”

Meanwhile, Pools chief Moore added: “He is strong and powerful, dominant in the air and he can be a leader.

“The game I went to was a Reserve fixture and you could clearly hear him on the pitch organising his team-mates; that vocal quality and know-how is exactly what we’re after so we’re delighted to get him.”
