Missed just five league games that term as he made 37 appearances for the Hatters. Also bagged just one goal in his Town career spanning 148 matches, that in the 2-1 win over Newcastle United on August 31, 1938.
6. Will Godfrey
Made just five appearances that season, six in total for the Hatters after joining from Plymouth Argyle with Bill Gooney and Frank Sloan. Turned out for Vauxhall Motors after leaving Kenilworth Road.
7. Len Rich
Played nine games that season, scoring four times, including two in the 3-1 win over Exeter in his third outing. Made 21 appearances in total for Luton, scoring six, before heading to the Grecians.
8. George Martin
On target with one of his nine goals that season. Scotsman made 105 appearances in total for Luton, netting 29 times, as he was appointed manager of the Hatters after World War Two had ended.
