Mike Harrison and Viv Busby were also on target for the Hatters, who took a huge leap towards winning promotion to Division Two by thumping the Royals, as they eventually finished second in the table to Leyton Orient. 5. Terry Branston
Skipper led Luton to two promotions in his three years with Town, although didn't feature too heavily during this season, restricted to just 24 appearances, scoring once.
6. John Moore
Club legend missed large chunks of the season, but once back in against Bury on January 24, played every game bar two until the campaign ended.
7. John Collins
Had signed for the Hatters from Reading in the summer and was one of three Luton players to reach double figures that season, scoring 12 goals in 46 outings.
8. Viv Busby
On target for the Hatters that day as he enjoyed a prolific end to the season scoring four goals in just nine appearances, including the winner against Southport that virtually guaranteed Luton promotion.
