ON THIS DAY: 1989 Division One - Luton Town 1 Norwich City 0 - Hatters stay up!

Luton Town retained their Division One status on the final day of the 1988-89 season 31 years ago today, beating Norwich City 1-0 at Kenilworth Road on May 13, 1989.

The Hatters, who had won two out of their previous three matches to give themselves a chance, had to beat Norwich City to stay up. Midfielder Danny Wilson missed a penalty in the first half, before stepping up once more from the spot in the second to net the winner as Ray Harford's side remained in the top flight. Below, the Luton News takes a special look at just who took to the field for Town that day.
