Town defender Matty Pearson wants his side to put right the mistakes that occurred at Cardiff last Saturday when Luton make their second trip to Wales in successive weekends today.

The Hatters found themselves hammered 4-0 by the Bluebirds just seven days ago, turning in their worst performance of the campaign.

A morale-boosting victory over league leaders Norwich City followed on Wednesday night, leading to another venture over the Severn Bridge this afternoon, as Hatters head to promotion hopefuls Swansea City.

Pearson said: “I think we let ourselves down.

"Mistakes happen and sometimes in football it’s how you bounce back and the test is now going back to Wales and putting right what we didn't do last week.

“We know it's going to be a tough game as Swansea are a tough team.

"They’ve got good players, we need to be at it and hopefully we are as well and we can give them a good game.

“Once you think you’ve cracked it, then it all goes wrong, so we just need to keep on our toes, realise they have got quality and make sure that we’re on it.”

It was the same for boss Nathan Jones, who when speaking about the match against a Swans side sitting seventh in the table and fancied to challenge to the Premier League this term, added: "What I hope is we don’t ever repeat the Cardiff one.

“They’re a good side, two years ago they were in the Premier League, they had a good season under Graham Potter, had a fantastic season under Coops (Steve Cooper) and got in the play-offs last year.

“They’ve signed well, want to build again this year, and they’re a good side, but when you have ever stood there and said, ‘it'll be an easy one for you at the weekend in the Championship?’

“There is no easy games and everything is different.

"They play a different shape, they play a similar way, and coupled with an unbelievable journey that we’ll have to face on Friday, there's no rest or respite, no nothing, they've just got to plough on.”
