Pilkington ready to battle it out for Town number one spot

HATTERS goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington is expecting to recommence his battle with Mark Tyler for the number one jersey at Kenilworth Road this season, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 37-year-old signed a new one-year deal with Hatters over the close season as did former Peterborough stopper Tyler.

Between them the pair have played almost 1,000 games, and Pilkington confirmed extending his stay at Luton was a simple choice to make.

He said: “I was offered a new deal and that’s been great. I still want to be playing football and it was an easy decision.”
