The chief executive from one of Luton Town's remaining nine opponents, QPR, has declared he is 'absolutely appalled' by the English Football League's (EFL) plans for the Championship to resume on June 20.

After the Government gave the green light for professional sport to return behind closed doors at the weekend, the Championship announced late last night that they have a provisional resumption date of just under three weeks.

The Hatters, who need to season to be completed in order to avoid relegation back to League One have to host QPR, Preston, Reading, Barnsley and Blackburn Rovers, while visiting Swansea City, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Hull City in their remaining nine matches.

However, Rangers' CEO Lee Hoos is dead against such a swift move to start playing once more, saying "I am absolutely stunned by this announcement.

"Incredibly, there has been absolutely no consultation with individual clubs nor with the Championship doctors' working group by the divisional representatives - or anyone else in the Football League - regarding this matter.

"Having spoken with our director of football Les Ferdinand and our manager Mark Warburton, they share my views.

"We are vehemently opposed to this schedule.

"The players haven't even returned to full-contact training at this moment and yet they are now expected to be in a position to play at a competitive level in just three weeks' time.

"I have made our feelings known to the EFL and, having spoken with a number of CEOs at other Championship clubs, I am not a lone voice on this matter.

"We are absolutely appalled."

QPR are 12th in the Championship - six points from the play-offs and 11 clear of the bottom three.
