The 23-year-old hasn’t featured for Luton since the 0-0 draw at York a month ago after injuring his knee during the closing moments.

But he is back in training now as boss John Still said: “I think the squad of players that we had last week is probably the squad of players that we’ve got this week.

“We might include Luke Rooney in that as he’s trained, but by and large, I don’t think it’s as much injuries now, it’s getting fit after being injured that we’re looking at.”

On the progress of Hatters’ recovering players, Still continued: “Jake Howells had an infection in his tummy like an abscess, but he’s been in and trained today, not trained full out, just trained generally.

“Paul Benson is a little bit behind in his fitness. He’s getting there now, we didn’t need to bring him on Saturday but at the moment he’s in and around it.

“Probably in a week or two he’ll be able to up his level and will be back, but then he’s to get back in the team.

“He had quite a nasty injury that really restricted him and he played through it because we needed him too.

“But fortunately we won’t need him to now. Fraser’s (Franks) has been back in training for a few days too and played in game we had out here in midweek.

“We’ve got a friendly provisionally arranged with Hemel next Wednesday and we’re hoping the likes of Fraser, Paul Connolly, Curtley Williams, Shaun Whalley, Matt Robinson, can get some much-needed game time.”
