Hatters first team coach Hakan Hayrettin was delighted recalled midfielder Luke Rooney is getting his chance to shine.
The 23-year-old has started Town’s last two games and scored in both of them.
Hayrettin said: “I’m happy for him. He got sent off way, way back and it wasn’t a sending off and he then found it difficult to get back in the team.
“He played very well in the reserve team and has pushed, been disciplined and professional.
“He’s got his chance and hopefully he’s here for a long time.”
Although he is out of contract this month, boss John Still expects Rooney to stay, adding: “In my mind Luke Rooney will be here, I don’t envisage there being any problem with that.”
