Hatters entertain Stockport County at Kenilworth Road this evening, after going four Blue Square Bet Premier games without a win in front of their fans, including a dreadful 2-1 defeat to Hyde last time out.

Asked if the players felt under more pressure at home, the defender, who was back in the side against Wrexham on Saturday, said: “Maybe a little bit. There’s a lot of Luton fans there wanting to see winning football. We want to win as well, so there is that extra little bit of pressure and we know that we’ve got to take the pressure off.
“That’s what the gaffer’s trying to do. He’s trying to take the pressure off and trying to make us enjoy football and bring out the best of us.”

Rowe-Turner is hopeful of being involved this evening after an improved showing on Saturday, making one fine goal-line clearance in the first half.

Town were also indebted to some fine saves from goalkeeper Mark Tyler in preserving their third successive away clean sheet too as the defender continued: “We work on that in training, what we should be doing, so the staff tell me what to do and I put myself in the right place.

“The defence try to do their job as well as they can, but it’s great having a keeper like Mark behind you, to clear everything up.”

Town go into the match a daunting 13 points adrift of the final play-off place with just 10 games left, and although not giving up on promotion, Rowe-Turner is aware the squad are playing for their futures.

He added: “A lot of players have got contracts next season as well, so they are playing for that too.

“I don’t think it’s completely mathematically gone, but the play-offs are a long way away. We’ll still keep working hard and see what happens though.”
