The future of crocked Hatters midfielder Danny Spiller seems to be nearing a conclusion, writes Mark Wood.

The 31-year-old signed from Gillingham last season but hasn’t played a competitive game after suffering an achilles injury at the start of the campaign.

Rest, electric shock therapy and ultimately surgery failed to bring about a return despite two aborted appearances in development games.

Speaking from Cyprus, manager John Still said: “There has been some movement, particularly with Danny Spiller, but I need to get back before I can advise that.”

Currently there is no more news on fellow Gills signing Garry Richards who has also been hampered by injuries.
