Still admits considering signing Mangan

Hatters boss John Still revealed he had contemplated signing striker Andy Mangan during the summer.

The 27-year-old was on loan at Kenilworth Road for the final weeks of last season, but didn’t feature for the Hatters.

He left Forest Green when the campaign ended, and was snapped up by the Shrews, where has scored four times in six games, including the winner at Premier League Leicester City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

When asked if there was an interest in the forward, who is expected to miss this weekkend’s clash with an injury, Still said: “Yes there was, but everything has to fit for everyone financially as well, it’s just a fact of life, it’s values.

“Maybe we couldn’t quite find out what he felt was the right value, I don’t know, or maybe he just felt where he comes from, is that a better place, I don’t know.

“But it was obvious from pretty early that it wouldn’t happen.”
