Hatters boss John Still doesn’t believe his policy of bringing in untested players from non-league to Kenilworth Road has been failure.

The Luton chief released host of players during the close season including the likes of Jim Stevenson, Charlie Walker and Kynan Isaac, while Curtley Williams and Ross Lafayette were among a number transfer listed.

However, Still felt the emergence of goalkeeper Elliot Justham last term, plus, prior to his exit, Ricky Miller, proves they are going in the right direction.

He said: “Some say that out of these youngsters, they’ve not really come on, but I don’t see it that way.

“I think Elliot Justham came on and did well and other than his situation, we all felt Ricky Miller this year would be up and at it, we really did,

“But that’s out of our hands as we couldn’t really do too much about that, it’s just how it is.

“If you get two players a year, that’s a fantastic return.”
