Luton’s followers witnessed their side tumble out of the top seven on Saturday after a sixth defeat on the bounce, but another bumper crowd at Kenilworth Road is expected against Exeter this afternoon.

When asked if he had a message for supporters, Still said: “Keep supporting. The support here since I came, from the thing with Ronnie Henry has been not good, it’s been amazing.

“It was amazing last season and I think they’ve shown their support this season, because the last few games, they’ve still turned up.

“We’re going to get people that mumble and groan, I can accept that because that’s how football is, but the vast majority of people’s support has been terrific.

“I get letter, emails from supporters and think it’s been incredible, I really do.

“Anyone who puts it into context. We got promoted, we’re in a comfortable position, we’ve still got a chance of getting in the play-offs.

“I would think about 99.9 per cent would have said yes to that last season. Well lets try and get behind the team and see if we can get that top group and get in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, the Town chief also reiterated his thoughts in Wednesday’s News/Gazette that the squad needs improving for next season, wherever they end up this term.

Injuries have played a major part in Still’s decision-making too as he added: “We’ve learned about everyone this year. We knew this time would come where there would be players that aren’t quite going to be for the level.

“They’ve done great in helping us get to this level, then you have to go again.

“It’s opened a massive door for us to walk into and have a look, as opposed to a small door where you don’t get in and out as easy to have a look.

“We’ve certainly been able to assess a lot, lot better than we would have done. The one thing we were aware of this time was going to come when we have to reassess the playing squad and that’s what we’ve done.”
