Still can’t wait to savour Kenilworth Road atmosphere again

Luton boss John Still says his side cannot wait for tonight’s League Cup clash with Swindon Town, and the chance to play in front of their own fans for the first time since their return to the Football League.

The match will be the Hatters’ first in this competition since August 2008 and a second round defeat to Reading, as Luton will once again be facing higher league opposition in Swindon.

Still said: “We’re looking forward to tomorrow, a cup game, which gives us a good opportunity to test ourselves against a team from a higher division.

“That will be a good education for us, because we play good tempo football, so teams may come here and try and throw something into the system that makes us try and change, and in some cases we will.

“We were a Conference team last year, and we’re playing a League One team, a little bit like Saturday (vs Carlisle).

“I reminded the players there was two divisions between us last season but not now.

“When you get this cup game that pits you against higher opposition, that gives you a little boost.

“At home our supporters can come and get behind us like they did last season.”
