Still delighted as Hatters boost their goal difference

Boosting Town’s goal difference was a massive bonus for Hatters chief John Still as his side demolished Kidderminster Harriers 6-0 on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

That took the Hatters to 55 goals in 25 league games this season, making them the leading scorers in the top five divisions.

They also have the best goal difference in the division with +33, six better than nearest rivals Cambridge United.

Still said: “I think when you’re right at the top, or right down the bottom, I think you are always aware of goal difference.

“So when you do score a few you always look at your goal difference and think, if it comes to it it’s good because you never know.”

But he’s hoping that it won’t prove detrimental to the Hatters, as he added: “Touch wood it doesn’t happen negatively, if that’s always on the plus side, it’s a big plus.

“It could be a big plus at the end, but it’s something I think if you’re right at the top, or right down the bottom, it can be worth a point so I think you have to be aware of it.”
