The 22-year-old has been blighted by a persistent hamstring injury this term and hasn’t started a game since October 25.

Although back in training recently, Ruddock Mpanzu suffered a recurrence of the injury this week and when asked if it meant he will miss the run-in, Still said: “It may well be. I know it sounds silly and I get as disappointed with it as everyone, but we’re led by the specialist.

“He’s trained, he was fine, but just started to feel it again.

“He’s been to see this specialist, that specialist and it’s a hamstring problem, but it might be linked to his back.

“Now he’s gone another route to a specialist that’s telling us one leg is a bit shorter than the other and putting pressure on that area.

“That’s what is causing the discomfort, so we’re looking at something else we can do. It’s with the specialist and I can’t do anything at the moment.

“He takes three steps forward and a step back. He’s not bad, but he’s not quite right, so that’s given us a little bit of a problem and we’re in the hands of other people a bit there.”
