Still has concerns over Guttridge once more

Hatters boss John Still revealed that midfielder Luke Guttridge has suffered a recurrence of his foot injury.

The 32-year-old missed the last two months of Town’s Conference winning campaign after breaking his metatarsal against Alfreton in March.

Although he returned this season and started last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Burton Albion, he missed today’s 3-0 win over Mansfield Town.

Speaking to the press, Still said: “Luke’s injured, he’s got a problem with the foot that he had the original problem with, we’re waiting really to find out why that was.

“He wasn’t even here today, he needs to keep that up, so that’s why he wasn’t involved and we’ll have to wait and see, we don’t know.”

Still also confirmed that although Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu was on the bench, he would have only been used in an emergency.

The boss added: “Pelly trained on Friday again, we’ve been really steady with Pelly.

“If it’s an absolute must play, must bring him on, we would do, but I don’t really want to. We hope he can train full out this week and if so he’ll be available for the FA Cup, so we’ll see.”
