Still hopeful of new deals for Lawless and Tyler

After securing the future of midfielder Solomon Taiwo yesterday, Town boss John Still is hopeful Mark Tyler and Alex Lawless will follow suit this week, writes Mike Simmonds.

There had been reports linking Taiwo with a move to League Two Portsmouth, while it is also believed that player of the season Lawless has been interesting various clubs too.

Taiwo penned a one-year deal to stay at Kenilworth Road though as Still said: “Solomon’s of the opinion that he can relaunch his career because I know him.

“I’m also hopeful (with Lawless and Tyler), we’ve had talks.

“My understanding of that is that we’ll be meeting again Thursday and I think something will be worked out.”

There was still no further news regarding the futures of Adam Watkins, Dan Walker and Wayne Thomas though whose contracts are up, with Still anticpating a decision will be made this week.
