Still ‘knocked over’ by Hatters support

The Town chief was involved in an angry exchange of words with two Luton followers after the 3-2 home defeat to Morecambe, as captain Steve McNulty also got involved.

Speaking exclusively to the News/Gazette though, Still said: “I thought he was using abusive language because we lost and my own thing was ‘how dare you?’

“No we’re not playing well at the moment, absolutely, and when I came to the club we weren’t playing well then.

“Well we’ve played quite well since, we’ve had two great years and two bad weeks.

“Next time we have two bad weeks, are you going to shout and holler again? I can’t see it, it’s ridiculous.

“Since then the emails and letters that have come in have knocked me over a little bit from people saying ‘we were telling him to stop.’”

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Portsmouth, the Town boss accepted supporters have every right to be upset with a run of four defeats from five games, but urged for a sense of realism too.
