Still not ruling out further signings

Hatters boss John Still hasn’t ruled out making any further additions to his squad ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline, writes Mike Simmonds.

The window closes at 11pm on Friday, and when asked if the deals done on Tuesday to bring in Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu and Jernade Meade would be his last, Still said: “I don’t know, I don’t know.

“I haven’t really got any plans to, but if someone else became available and I thought this is another one of us, this is going to be a Luton player and I went to the club and it was possible, then I think they would support me again.

“I haven’t at the moment, but I’ve got 36 hours yet and who knows?

“When the phone rings, ‘you now that player you asked about, well we would do something with him.’

“So that’s about it. I’m not banging doors down to bring someone in now, but I’ve made quite a few enquiries.

“Some that came to fruition with Fraser (Franks) and Pelly, even with the loans, with Ryan (Inniss).

“I asked about Ryan before we bought in any of the centre halves and it was a no, then the phone goes, ‘we’ll do it now.’

“We enquired for Cameron, ‘yes we can do it.’ There’s one or two other people we’ve enquired about in different area, but heard they couldn’t do that at the moment.

“Now if that changed, and I’m not really talking about loans, I know I wouldn’t loan now at this window.

“If something came up that I thought for us long term, then I would speak to the club and they would probably tell me to shove off.

“No they wouldnt, they’ve supported me fantastically, thank you Gary (Sweet)!”
